1. introduction

well, it officially a new year!!

2013 was a crazy year for the spiker family. this time last year, my husband was preparing to leave for basic training in south carolina & i was pregnant with our twin girls. i have to say having him leave was one of the hardest things i've had to deal with, so far, in our relationship. we moved in our new home for the time being in july. kentucky. i was really excited to move here- for a fresh start. i love it here, aaron..not so much. he misses home a lot. i am still really loving it here. our house is wonderful, except for the tile. all three of our girls are doing amazing. annabelle is potty trained with accidents SOMETIMES. the twins are starting to sleep through the night & we've been sleep training them as well. many don't believe in the cry-it-out method but it really has worked for us. it doesn't give our girls a complex that we have "left" them either, as many say it does. anyways! cara is pulling herself up on things for about a month now, savannah is starting to do it as well. it's a really exciting time in the life of the twins.

2014. it's going to be another crazy year. we are going to face our first deployment and i am nervous as hell. i have already dealt with 2 people i am close to leaving on a deployment- my best friends husband & my cousin. i can't imagine how i will feel when the date comes for my own husband to leave. but all i can do is put on my big girl panties, cry a little, and get going. i am wanting to lose some more weight. i am down about 8lbs from my pre-preg weight. it's nice but not enough. so ill be blogging about that some too.
